Position Title: Library Assistant I

Position Type: Work Study

Job Description: Staff the Access Desk in the Library, check-out and check-in books, DVDs, and CDs using the library’s integrated library system. Help students, faculty, and staff find library resources, both in the library and online. Answer the main Library phone line, transferring calls and taking messages as needed. Shelve new and returned books, DVDs, and CDs. Stock printers with paper and provide basic computer help to students, faculty, and staff. Participate in special projects as directed by library staff.

Job Requirements: Ability to work as part of a team to represent the Library and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.  Must have basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and online searching/browsing. 

You must be eligible for student employment (enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours for the semester during which you'll be working.)


Skills you will gain/enhance: While working at the library you will learn how to do minor trouble shooting of computers and programs, as well as becoming very familiar with the library’s resources.  


Desired Shifts: Saturdays 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday 8am-9pm and Friday 8am-6pm.  Actual shifts may vary due to the needs of the library.

Job Payment Information:

Wage: $10.20 per hour
Paid: Bi-weekly (Fridays)
