Position Title: Clerical Assistant II – Spring Term 2019

Position Type: Work Study

Job Description: This position supports purchasing, business services and payroll for up to 20 hours a week.  Tasks include extracting data from the accounting system and reviewing entries for accuracy, keying data into the accounting system, scanning documents for permanent record, filing paper documents and general organization.  Attention to detail and typing accuracy is required in applying various standardized naming conventions and file locations for the electronic and paper documents.  A detailed review of the scanned documents is needed to ensure legibility and completeness.  Lifting 20 lb. file boxes may be required.  Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements: The ideal candidate would be detail oriented, have high standards for work ethics and confidentiality and consistently perform quality work.  Prior computer experience including a working knowledge of Excel and Outlook would be needed.  This position will be a sharing a workspace with others so once hours are established they would need to stay consistent for greatest efficiency.  Currently there is flexibility in establishing working hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A background check must be completed with clean results

You must be eligible for student employment (enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours for the Spring semester to apply for this position.  

 

Skills you will gain/enhance: Accounting or Math students that apply, who demonstrate great attention to detail, an aptitude with numbers, and good work ethic may be given more advanced tasks.  Skills learned in the Level II position include auditing, accounting analysis, organization, scanning, filing, and communication skills.

 

Job Payment Information:

Wage: Level II - $11.50 per hour
Paid: Bi-weekly (Fridays)
