Position Title: Technology Assistant

The Accessibility Services Technology Assistant will be responsible for a variety of duties related to technology maintenance, processing materials in alternate format, and assistive technology. Duties include learning how to use assistive technologies available in our office, testing out devices to ensure they are in working order, and captioning videos as needed. The Technology Assistant will also provide customer service by conducting assistive technology training and informing students of the process of requesting materials in alternate format. Lastly, the Technology Assistant may offer support in testing accessibility of electronic content using assistive technology such as screen readers.
Our ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, curious, and has a passion to learn more about accessibility and assistive technology. The ability to maintain student and office confidentiality is of utmost importance. The candidate must possess basic Microsoft Office and technology skills as well as the ability to work with a variety of students and people. You must be eligible for student employment (enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours for the semester in which you will be working) to apply for this position.

The Technology Assistant will have the opportunity to develop a unique and diverse skillset related to customer service, accessibility, and assistive technology. You will be trained in disability awareness, prompt and polite customer service, and the latest trends in web accessibility and assistive technologies. Job Payment Information:
Wage: Starting at $10.50 per hour
Paid: Bi-weekly (Fridays)
