Position Title: Clinical Scheduler

Campus: Lakewood

Department: Emergency Medical Services

Job Summary Statement:

In coordination with EMS program director and collaboration with the EMS course instructors, this position works to ensure each student is scheduled as required in the clinical and internship settings.

Primary Duties:  

Coordinates student scheduling for the clinical/internship phase of education. Organize and schedule students at various hospitals and EMS agencies.  Schedule, notify and track student clinical assignments and completion.   

40% of Time

Maintains various records, reports, and files such as student patient care reports, student progress reports, preceptor evaluations, and major evaluations. Performs data entry associated with the clinical and internship rotations and to track student progress.

25% of Time

Maintains records demonstrating student compliance with clinical/internship pre-requisites (such as immunizations, physicals, certifications, etc.)

10% of Time

Collect pre-clinical and post clinical paperwork from the course instructors.

10% of Time

Maintain contact lists, computer and manual filing systems of records and reports; digitize paper forms, and provides information and general support to students, instructors and visitors.

15% of Time

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Six months employment experience with scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in EMS, education, nursing, or closely related field.

Current or expired certification as a paramedic, RN, or other healthcare professional familiar with the clinical requirements of a healthcare education program.

Experience with scheduling clinical/internship rotations in the patient care setting.

Membership in or experience working in diverse communities and supporting the success of students and staff from racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented in the College.

One year experience providing technical support or office management to assist an administrator by applying knowledge of rules and regulations to achieve program objectives.

Required knowledge, skills & abilities:

Proficient computer skills to include the MS Office suite.

The ability to obtain or provide information in which the primary objective is to transmit or receive facts or ideas in their essential form. 

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Work independently, cooperatively, and collaboratively.
