EMS Adjunct Instructors (EMS Primary Instructor)

Individuals in this role will be the primary instructor for courses within the EMS Academy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

o   Facilitate student learning in the classroom and lab setting and through out of class assignments to help students meet course objectives

o   Deliver assessments and maintain records on student’s progress and attainment

o   Respond in a timely manner to student’s communications and provide clarification and extra help as needed

o   Use feedback from students and evaluators to improve instructional delivery

o   Create effective classroom content and utilize a variety of classroom facilitation techniques

o   Create course syllabi and schedules, and ensure adequate instructional support during psychomotor events

o   Foster inclusivity and diverse thought

  • Minimum Requirements

o   Associate’s degree in EMS, education, or related field

o   Certification, or eligibility for certification, by the CDPHE as a Paramedic

o   3 years or more of experience as an EMS provider in a prehospital setting

o   Completion of the CDPHE EMS Instructor Series*

o   Eligibility for a Career and Technical Education Teaching Credential from the Colorado State Board for Community Colleges

  • Preferred Requirements

o   Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in EMS, education, or related field

o   Certification by the CDPHE as a Paramedic

o   5 years or more of experience as a Paramedic in a prehospital setting

o   Completion of the CDPHE EMS Instructor Series*

o   Eligibility for a Career and Technical Education Teaching Credential from the Colorado State Board for Community Colleges

*The entire CDPHE EMS Instructor Series will be offered October 17th – 20th, 2017 at Arapahoe Community College
